Immediately after WW1 in Aden there was a lack of contemporary photographs for postcards. Two retailers, Cowasjee Dinshaw & Bros and Pallonjee, Dinshaw & Co, used the same photographs taken around 1900, or just before, by the photographer J M Coutinho.

The first contemporary RP set to be issued (consisting of 20 numbered cards) was by Pallonjee, Dinshaw & Co around 1925.
